The Queen Bees for Sustainability have set up the Plan BEE Indonesia initiative to collect data, conduct research, and offer support and assistance to beekeepers, forest honey collectors, and farmers living in different areas of Indonesia. The Queen Bee team, Ratu Lestari Alami, started the Plan BEE program to help save the bees in Bali and Indonesia by increasing their numbers and raising awareness of the threats to their future. It’s believed that a third of all our food depends on the pollination of bees. This includes fruit, many vegetables, nuts, seeds and oils and that 85% of plants exist because of bees. More than 100 food crops are pollinated by bees.
Albert Einstein said many years ago, “If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.”
